What is your mission?
My mission is to help others live a simple, joyful and more natural life. I believe the includes living mindfully and purpose. And that can begin with living and working in spaces that promote simplicity and meaning.
Do you have a particular style?
I work with clients to find their own unique style, but on every project I strive for timeless, sustainable, simple and harmonious spaces that are both functional and beautiful. I’m also known for using natural elements and repurposed items. My coaching style is gentle but persistent - if you've committed to working with me to create a simpler home, I'm going to hold you accountable to achieving it!
My first short story was written when I was 12, but it only lives in a storage box in my parents' basement. I started my design and simple living blog, Refreshed Designs, in 2011 as a way to transfer what I was learning as I took courses in interior design, sustainable design and photography. There are currently over 400 blog posts on that site. Pure and Lovely Things came to life in early 2018. And I've been writing for employers and clients since 1999. It's a beautiful thing to do what you love.
How long have you been writing?
What's your educational background?
I graduated from the University of New Brunswick with an BA in English and earned a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations from Niagara College. I completed two-thirds of an MBA program but never felt the need to spend time in the classes I wasn't interested in, so I don't have the letters beside my name. Instead, I soaked up colour theory and photography and web design and online businesses classes, and continued writing and blogging. Much more enjoyable than finance!
Refreshed Designs is located in a rural area on the East Coast of Canada in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I also offer online services available to anyone not in this corner of the world.

Coffee, toast and sunshine. Also cleaning and organizing (yes, I'm that person). And getting lost in a good book. Oh, and Jack Pearson from This is Us.
